  • FCP7 Main Sequence Browser Icon AND timeline – GONE!

Posted by Stu Aull on September 11, 2013 at 12:54 am

    FCP7 7.0.3
    OSX 10.6.8
    MacPro 2010 12 core/14GB ram

Editing main sequence. 5min 1080p piece.
Opened 2ndary sequence to load in a PSD file.
Instead of closing the 2ndary Timeline/seq. I accidently closed the Main Seq timeline.
Main Timeline Sequence “box”/icon in Browser is G-O-N-E!
    🙁
so nothing there to double-click open and reload up the now-missing Timeline (ie, the program edit).
    Tried:
    Quit/reboot project
    Trash Prefs, Reboot Project
Search database here on Forums for ideas

    nada folks.
Either I am missing something painfully obvious or the “simple” deletion of the Main Seq has terminated my edited program. A painful “first” in 12 yrs of FCP editing if true.

I have a BU from yesterdays OLD version edit I can start up on – but I have (??) lost the entire day’s edit.

    or have I?
    ideas??

    Thanks

Try running Disk Warrior and then Repair Disk Permissions. If you don’t have DW, try Repair Disk Permissions. It could help.

    Thx John-
yep – did all the maintenance stuff with no joy. I guess once the sequence icon is deleted off the Browser window you are basically sunk. I went to an older backup and redid what I lost betw current and BU project.
Really, I guess no substitute for religious BUs!

    cheers
