    Hi,
    I am having a problem with FCP7 on a new MAC PRO 2.66 / OS 10.5.8
    Kona 3 i/o.
Mastering to HDCAM OR HDCAM SR same problem.
Getting picture and sound playing from timeline,
but as soon as I ‘edit to tape’… I get no sound.
I’ve tried embedded audio on HDSDI also AES… same issue.
The audio tracks are armed in the edit to tape window,
and the tracks are routed properly.
I have no issues on my FCP6 system.
Has anyone else had this problem?
    any suggestions?
    thanks
    Bruce

Have the latest AJA drivers that are for FCP 7? And you aren’t on Snow Leopard are you? If so, got the drivers for that?

    Hi Shane,
Yes, I have the latest FCP7 AJA drivers… also using OS 10.5.8.
    not 10.6.. yet.
I have also contacted AJA and they have not heard of this problem.
    thanks

Before you go into edit to tape mode, are you seeing the audio going to the deck? That would definitely eliminate the issue of some connection issue.

Yes I am seeing audio and video when playing back on the
timeline. Just issues when in edit to tape.
I’ve just visited AJA’s website, and I see that there is
a new KONA 3 driver set, that was released on Sept.1
I am going to install and see if this fixes the problem

    Problem solved!
Update Kona driver to version 7, and all works
