    Dear Experts

I am trying to finish off someones unfinished DVD who can no longer complete it. It is VERY almost done, however I am worried about how the final product will look when burned to DVD. Its been shot using a few cameras and sometimes on the canvas the shot fills the entire screen, othertimes it does not. Can someone explain to me the two outline boxes (or tell me where to look) which are in the canvas. Can I be sure that if the shot fills the smaller box, then my film will be ok on a standard TV (not wide screen or anything).

    Al

First box (bigger) is action safe, anything you want to be assured to be viewable needs to be inside the. Second box is title safe, you normally want all the graphics and texts to be within this box.

Your thinking is wrong, your image should always fill the entire canvas. If a final DVD is viewed on a computer it will show the entire images so going to shoots that do not fill the area will be jarring.
