FCP7 – cannot capture – L&C window “Preview Disabled”
Hi all,
Trying to capture video thru Log & Capture. L&C panel says VTR OK and I have control of the camera from the keyboard.However “Preview Disabled” Trashed the prefs changed the cable etc no joy. The same tape worked perfectly only yesterday.
Mac Book Pro / 10.6.8 / Canon XL2
checked out several previous posts but no help so far

Particularly after trashing prefs you might have to reselect the correct Easy Setup and firewire interface. Canons can be funny with the Sony firewire setting. I haven’t plugged a Canon firewire camera in for a while but I remember it had to be some variant of firewire basic.
Search this forum for that camera model and you might find advice on the best way to connect this camera, like making sure the camera is on and a tape playing before booting or opening FCP – tips like that.
