  • FCP7 Audio Render issue (ends up all over the place)

    Hey guys.

So I have some mp3’s AIFF’s and wav files in a sequence that render fine 50% of the time. But MID project I’ll re-render something for preview and the voiceover is mixed up, the sound FX are in the wrong spot and other things are mixed up.

Seems to be the render, because if i clear all render files, it renders fine or messed up a different way.

I’ve seen some people with this issue but haven’t found a solution yet, ideas anyone?

    I’m on a 2012 12Core Macpro 32GB ram MAUDIOC400 external audio.

Please help, rendering has become as slow as a crap machine because I have to do it 4 or 5 times to get the sequence sounding right 🙁

    Cheers.

    Hi Jeff

FCP works best with AIFF files although the WAVs should be OK. MP3s are a pain and probably the source of your woes.
I would convert them to AIFF files and make sure all of the sample rates are the same.
I have had all kinds of odd things happen with MP3s – including slipping sync and render issues so certainly convert those.

    best wishes

As Neil said, you should get those mp3s off the timeline. See here-

There isn’t any h.264 video on the timeline also, is there?
