FCP7 3D Simulation Cross Zoom FCPX Equivalent
I loved the 3D Cross Zoom in FCP7, used it all the time for logo fly-ins. But I have yet to find an equivalent for FCPX. I see lots of clip to clip zooms, but I’d like one that zooms from full to normal just like the ole legacy version.
This is where the layer starts zoomed up so large that it fills the entire screen, then snaps down to it’s normal size. Great for covering jump cuts or as I said, flying in a logo or text element.I’m sure you can do this in Motion, but my brain is stuck in AE mode and Motion baffles me.

That sounds easy enough to build once in Motion and then export to FCP as a permanent effect plug-in. I suggest you ask someone in the Motion forum to build it for you. I hated every second of working in AE though I acknowledge its power. I find Motion more my speed and intuitive.

Thanks, I should see if I can get some help over there. I cobbled together one in Motion that’s close but still needs some refinements to get it to where I want it.
