I am trying to capture an entire tape with FCP 5. I am using a Sony DSR-25 and the tape is a Sony DVCAM 184. The tape does have timecode breaks, so I thought it best to use Capture Now. However, when the process is complete, I find that the file is not the entire duration. I have actually watched, and it seems to be capturing everything on the tape. It goes to the need of the tape and does not give me any error messages. I eventually got it to capture in 3 blocks. I suppose I could live with that, however I have many hours of tape to capture from a 3 camera shoot, and I would rather not babysit the process.

I have all timecode break warning boxes unchecked and no duration set to Capture Now. Any thoughts as to why Capture Now seems to be limiting the duration of the capture.

    Thank You!

How is your scapture scratch drive formatted? What codec are you capturing in? It always helps to describe your system and software versions.
