When FCP5 exports to an SMB mount, it divides files into 2GB increments. The System Configuration for export file size is unchecked, even when it is checked and file limit is set to 10GB, same 2GB increments occur, ie. the 10GB file becomes A1 (2GB), A2 (2GB), etc.

File transfers from the Finder will move any size file as one file to the same SMB location, have tested to 10GB.

This occurs to any SMB mount, whether a Win2003Pro server, or NetApp, both servers with multiple Gig nics.

Apple says network problems, not enough throughput, I say copout answer. Network is GigE with latency less than 10ms.
