    Hi all..

    I’m just about install my FCP6 and all studio content on my systems, but before I like to know if the projects files will be compatible with FCP5, I have another systems running in my office in Mexico that will be updated in 30 days, but need to send files form and to that systems..

    FCP is not backwards compatible. Never is. FCP 5.1 files will not open with FCP 5.0. FCP 5.1.4 won’t even open in FCP 5.1.1.

    Projects updated to FCP 6 will not open in FCP 5.1. So either wait to upgrade until everyone can, or deal with sending XMLs of cuts back and forth.

    If it were me, I’d wait.

    Thanks.. I have that nightmare with 5.1 and doesn’t want to happen again… Just want to make sure if there’s any option..
