I am having playback problem in FCP X since I update to Lion.
I transcode my material to ProRes and I also crated proxy but I still have the playback problem.
I didn’t have this problem with Mac OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard
    What can I do:
Should I change my NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 to ATI Radeon HD 5870
Should I add more RAM from 12GB to 32GB
What can I do please help.

To be honest try a fresh install of Lion first.
Do you have an extra blan drive?
you dont even have to install FCPX on it, you can run it from the other Snow Leopard drive.
But yeah you should get a better video card and possibly more ram.

Thanks Eric for the response, I would try tomorrow a fresh install of Lion.

?? What do you mean with “Do you have an extra blan drive?”

haha typo. I meant blank as in a drive you dont mind having to format.
I usually format my drives before I install an OS on it.
