FCP X info Metadata
Maybe it is obvious, but I can not find it:
How do you NOT get the “Share metadata” in a file exported from FCP X.When I export/share from FCP X the default ‘Info’ tab has lots of fields for Metadata. Lots of them filled out with my name, the Project name and the year. They are fields like: creator, screenwriter, producer etc.
They are wrong, I am no screenwriter, never been, never will be. I think.
So I delete the fields, export the file, send it to a client.
And when I press command-I in the finder I find out the movie contains the Metadata I thought I deleted.Is there a way not to have FCP X create all this (ridiculous) metadata in my files?
And if not, is there an easy way to delete this metadata?Thanks for any help here.

You mean the blank fields? Nope they are standard placeholders.

I discovered an okay workaround: replacing the filled out fields with a space instead of deleting them.
I still hope there will come a solution to not having to do this for every export, but it is better than fiddling with metahoot or the terminal.

On the other hand it’s unlikely your client will ever find that metadata or care.

I actually had a complaint once by a client about it who had to pass the files on to an archive.
I am convinced some other, more technical clients, will see the Metadata as well.
Probably they will not really care.
But it is not very professional and I dislike that.
