HDV cameras: SONY Z7Us and CANON HV40s.

I can capture live to ki pro HDMI out or I can make a copy in playback mode on cameras HDMI out to Ki Pro. I know its better to capture live but that’s not my question.

Question is: What is the best format to capture footage destined for FCP X?

Also I thought FcP X was not QT based so how does Ki Pro play nice with FCP X?

Apple ProRes 422 QuickTimes are a great choice for Final Cut Pro X. The AJA Ki Pro and the Ki Pro Mini both work great for producing Apple ProRes 422 QuickTimes.

FCPx revolves around ProRes. It will accept QT movies. I am sure it will accept QT movies into the foreseeable future.
