    Audio -Mono
    48khz
    24 bit

I began working within a project file that a previous editor used on the film I am cutting. Everything appeared to be synchronized correctly and I had no initial problems. However, when I encountered some dropped frames or lag, I restarted the MacPro and the trouble began. I noticed that a few random clips in my sequences were shortened to a mere 1 Frame. The only info I was able to get from the previous editor was that he synced up the audio using the tail slate and set in points accordingly. I can’t lock the tracks and pull the audio out to the right, however they can be lengthened on the left side of that 1 Frame. Coming from a bkgd in sports where I didn’t have to sync very often…I’m now supremely confused. Why would Final Cut allow me to do all this editing, playback, etc; then on restarting, I lose the audio to certain clips. Any help on this matter, even if purely speculative would be greatly appreciated.

    Well that’s an odd one.

Can you open an autosave? or other backup?

    Thanks for the response Jerry.

It gets even more odd…I opened up an autosave from the night before and it was fine. I was switching b/t FCp and Safari…when I went back into FCP I got the wheel of death and then it disconnected the same exact files again. So, it would let me play them perfectly, reloaded, then the same problem. I haven’t moved any files around, I’ve trashed prefs, and I’ve tried “move into sync” in the timeline,” but nothing seems to work. And the previous editor claims he never had this issue. We’re using the same software version too (6.0.6). So I’m baffled. I’m posting a screenshot to show you what I’m dealing with. Any thoughts on this matter would be great, thanks.
