That material you’re trying to edit is uncompressed HD, which cannot be played back off of anything less than a hard drive raid sub-system with at least five or six drives, and preferably eight.

March 23, 2009 at 8:32 amRight Phil, I missed the pixel dimensions. It’s 8bit uncompessed SD, but it still requires a raid.

March 23, 2009 at 5:45 pmBut it play great on the viewer , only when i put it on the timeline i get a red line “unrender” and even after i render it it is still playing as freez frame. had it been a need for the raid it wont ask for the media to be rendered no?

David,
The red render line means one of the following two things:
1) Your sequence settings do not match your media.
2) Your system does not have the throughput necessary for play back your media in realtime without rendering.
My guess would be both of the above. Let me suggest that you watch the following tutorial and follow it to the letter when beginning any new project.

i am going mad , the only thing i am thinking is the codec.the audio of the sq is 32 bit flot and the clip is 16 bit big endian could that be the problem?Vid Frame Size: 1024×576
