    Hello,

We are using Apple’s Final Cut Pro 5 with latest updates. We have a multicamera of a music event. Camera A: HDV Camera B: Mini DV, how can we mix the two on the same timeline? As at the moment the HDV project is bigger, so if we make a DV PAL new sequence/project and drop the HDV clips 1280x720p 25/50 onto the DV PAL Timeline, along with our DV footage 720×576.

Will the HDV clips resize on the fly to match the 720×576 DV project?

    Thanks,

    Leo

Mixed format timelines are a feature in FCP 6.

You can use HDV in a DV timeline, but you’ll need to render.

I don’t think you can make multiclips with different codecs in FCP 5. Mixing different formats in a timeline is new in FCP 6. Maybe someone who is using that version can speak to whether it accepts different formats within a multiclip.
