FCP vid frame rate issue (mixed 23.98 & 59.94) DVCPRO HD 720p60
I’m a film student and I just finished logging my footage from my short film. We shot with a Panasonic HVX200. After logging all my footage, I looked at the Vid Rate column and realized that my DP shot the first two days of footage at 23.98 fps, and the third day at 59.94 fps! The Compressor column reads DVCPRO HD 720p60. My sequence setting is 23.98 (matching the majority of my footage). I am just beginning to drag my (mixed) footage into my sequence to begin editing. This seems to work fine when using FCP 5.1, but FCP 6 rejects the 59.94 fps footage. Since FCP 5.1 accepts the footage in the timeline, I am considering abandoning FCP 6 altogether. However, I am very worried that I will run into problems down the road (during the rendering and exporting phases.)
A friend at school suggested downconverting (to SD), and changing the frame rates during the upconvert (back to HD). He was not very specific, though. I am looking for someone to give me the best solution to my problem. Any help would be HUGELY appreciated. Sorry if I reported any extraneous information, but I prefer to be specific when asking for help.
