  • FCP to Shake 10 bit uncompressed renders as noise

Posted by Ronsuss on October 25, 2007 at 6:57 pm

Doing a round trip from FCP6 to Shake 4.1, clips are 10 bit uncompressed, when rendering file out of Shake at 10 bit uncompressed clip is all noise. Negates the whole “round trip” as I have to render it out as an Animation codec to be usable. Any suggestions as to why all I get is noise on my 10 bit uncompressed renders?

I seem to remember having heard of this before. Do a search on this forum, and also on the Shake forum. Look back 6-12 months.

If you got Shake and FC in the same Intel Mac, the 8/10b Unc codecs do not work in Shake. With the rest of codecs, no problem,
I’ve posted in the Shake forum about that and I read in the Apple Shake forum some people with the same problem. I hope Apple is doing something about.
