FCP to FCP deck control
What I think I’m looking for is some kind of Virtual VTR solution.
I just got a AJA Io and I have a Kona3 system. What I want to do is downconvert DVCProHD 1080i 29.97 timelime on the K3 system to DVCPro50 to my laptop through the Io. This way I hardware downconvert instead of using Compressor. Thinking I gain speed and quality. I know I can do this with a capture now but it would be great is the laptop acted as a deck and I could do Edit to Tape. This is not a must have thing but I think it would be nice if there is something out there that is reasonably priced.

Why? You have the capability to do what you want to do in your office right now. Why do you need the edit to tape function?
