  FCP to DVD Workflow for DVX-100 30P

  Hey Everyone,

  I’m having some issues with some footage that I shot in 30P with my DVX-100. The end product is a DVD, but after many different exporting combinations and DVDs I am still seeing interlacing/aliasing issues. Here are some specific things I’ve tried in each program.

  FCP- changed my sequence field dominance to “NONE” even though FCP tries to interpret my 30p footage as interlaced. During editing I did use an external monitor, which did not display any aliasing. Then I exported it….

  …as QT reference file with current settings, QT reference file with the sequence settings, QT reference file with uncompressed 8-bit settings and sent directly to Compressor.

  In compressor I used the DVD 90 Minute Best Quality Preset. The A/V attributes of the QT reference files still identifies field dominance as bottom first, so I changed that to Progressive, and when that didn’t work I also went under frame controls and changed the output to progressive. Same results.

  Lastly I put the reference files directly into DVDSP for compression, but that didn’t work either.

  Does anyone see where the problem might be?
