Hey, guys, first of all thanks for answering (or just reading). I tried searching for an answer to this and I got a ton of hits; too many to search through.

Getting to the situation, I have a G5 and a Mac Pro with FCP on both systems and we need proper monitoring (integration with Color a plus). I’m looking at getting a pair of JVC TM-H150CGU monitors but I’m unsure of what else (if anything) I’ll need to make everything work together. The company I work for produces mostly SD stuff now but we do need it to work with HD.

Can someone tell me what I’ll need to make everything work together?

Thanks again to whomever may answer this post. I appreciate your time.

If you don’t have one already, you’ll need a capture card (AJA or Blackmagic) to get a good signal out of the machine. There are other alternatives but the cards are the best long term option.

For integration with Color, the AJA Kona boards are the best at working with Color and just some of the best video card on the market.

Another excellent alternative is the AJA Io HD which is the only Firewire device that supports Color at this time, but only in SD.

If you intend to color grade in HD, then the AJA Kona boards are the way to go.
