  • FCP to BetaSP Deck a very RARE issue, anyone???

    Hi All,

So I’m connected to a Beta SP deck via the AJA Io LA, using FCP with all the latest updates and running off an 8 core Mac Pro.

I’m outputting a tvc, and the very beginning of the tvc is a video piece that was created in after effects, exported to the 10 bit uncompressed format as that matched my timeline and my outputting timeline. I have a slate, then black, then the TVC. On the first frame of the TVC in the beta deck or on playback through the aja and beta, the image shifts down and to the right corner, then within a frame pops back into place. This has never happened when its played on the computer monitors and after watching the quicktime of the intro video, it has to be FCP doing something, cuz all else checks out.

If anyone has any ideas that would be a huge help!!

    Thanks,
    Scott

What if you place a few seconds of black at the top of your timeline and adjust TC accordingly in the sequence settings. It seems like the deck is having trouble catching that first frame of video. Does the in point of video recorded on the deck still match the in point of the sequence time code wise? Or did if fall off by a frame or 2?
On our sequences we have a prebuilt slate / countdown setup with 5 seconds of black at the top before it.

    not sure if this helps,
    good luck

    Victor

Are you sending the same reference to the VTR and the AJA Io?
