    Hi,
I’ve been editing using FCP for some years now but may have to retrain to Avid. Pretty exciting, but it means a fast learning curve. Can anyone recommend any decent books or tutorials to get me up and running quickly? Something that’s not directed at idiot level would be nice! Also, is it worth downloading freeDV to get used to the interface or is it very different to the media composer systems?
Any tips would be appreciated, seems I’m moving a little in the opposite direction to a few people around here.

    Cheers,
    ez

I would definitely recommend you get the Avid freeDV. It will get you used to the Avid icons and work flows. Also for training, go to the Avid website and check out their on-line training called ALEX.
