  • FCP throwing me out as I try to import files

When I try to import some files into an existing FCP project, FCP just throws me out completely and gives me the message “The application FCP quit unexpectedly” with the option to re-open, etc. Then when I try again, maybe it will work, maybe it will just throw me out again. It seems random. So I’m inching my way through, but I have 90 files to import.

The files are 1920×1080 .mov files from a Nikon DSLR.
I’m using FCP v6 on an iMac.

    Thanks.

ProResDid you first transcode the files to ProRes? FCP doesn’t work with the media files that camera shoots natively.
