I have some XDCAM 1080 P clips that I am editing.

Recently I started having some issues with encoding and rendering so I trashed all my preferences. I reset the user settings to what I beleived to be a match for the footage I was using.

Now when I drag some footage in ti asks me to match the sequence to the footage. If I don’t it leaves the footage requiring rendering.

The problem is that if I look at the changed settings compared to the user preferences settings there is absolutely no difference???
    Every setting is the same?

What could be going on here?

    FC finds something different.
Size, pixels aspect, field order, codec?

Could you post a screen shot of the item properties of the clip and a screen shot of the item properties for the sequence in which you’re editing before you put a shot into the sequence and change its settings.

    All the best,

    Tom
