    Hi,

I have FCP set up for NTSC DV. Once I set it for NTSC DV I created a new sequence. I need to import a bunch of historical images that I have already cropped. every time I import an image an put it in the timeline I get the REDLINE and it makes me render it. I don’t have time to render every little thing.

    What gives?

there are many variables to your post.

    1. Drive speed. If you are on firewire drives you can expect a render.
    2. RT settings (safe or unlimited)
    3. Size and resolution of the images (anything over 150dpi is overkill.
    4. Computer speed
    5. FCP version.
    6. FCP sequence render settings
    7. FCP motion quality (v5.0 only)

all of these variables contribute to render times.

    Double posting is not on!

Usually your question does not get answered based on how it was asked.

One version back, but it hits on all the most important stuff, with the exception of dynamic real-time which was added in 5.

Help > Final Cut Pro User Manual… Type dynamic real in the search box.
