In rendering nested DVCPRO HD Sequences, I’ve noticed that FCP 5.02 seems to handle rendering differently if I render from parent timelines, as opposed to child timelines. Rendering from a parent seems significantly more buggy; for instance, clips with alpha channels (either in the source, or generated by an effect) appear to “pop” as they fade in, but only if rendered from the parent.

The most obvious fix I’ve come across seems to be simply trashing any parent render files, and re-rendering from the child timeline. Seems like it should be unneccessary, but it works.

    Anyone had similar experiences?

    Thanks,
    Tom
