Ok, Here is a strange one.. I am putting extra polish on my ten minute project that has been already approved.. But I knew the “keys” just needed a little work.. So I get the keys all polished, rendered and saved the project file. I export a 8 bit Ntsc file and damn not enough memory on my main external video raid drive. So I move an older folder off the external video raid drive to another internal drive and as luck would have it, that folder contained an older clip I was using… No Big deal,, just reconnect media, re render and export video.. simple.. Well I have done it 4 times and the last time the timeline did not loose the reconnected files.. But every exported video has the reconnected media missing with the big red Media Offline sign behind my keys…. But the timeline is perfect the media is there….. hello anybody trip over this before

I’m having a similar problem. I show “Media Offline” in one of my sequences – the one where I have done all my edits. But in other sequences of the same project the media is visible and connected. When I go in to reconnect the media, it is found and goes thru the process of reconnecting but remains… unconnected. I can bring the same media into the sequences and it’s visible but all my work from before is worthless.
I am working on it now… will post again if I can figure something out. It’s really frustrating though!

Todd, I’ve opened an old project that I haven’t touched for two days and a number of clips have gone offline (probably less than 10%). I’m having exactly the same issue. I’ve checked the QTs, they seem fine, trashed preferences etc. but still the same deal. Looks like it’s reconnecting fine, but still showing Media Offline………

    Very perplexing.
