I have a project that conttinues to crash, it has multiclips, audio, plain old video, graphics, and sequences. Originally I thought that the problem was from having too many sequences in the project, or maybe too much media. The original FCP file was 450MB !!!! huge! I watched the file size change as i deleted the assets of the project file out. In total it dropped maybe 80MB after deleting everything! Don’t worry this is a duplicate… After deleting everything though my empty project file was still huge, 377MB!!!! Any ideas of cause or solution???? PLEASE!

It sounds like your project file has become corrupt. You might do better creating a new project rather than trying to salvage a corrupt one.

Try starting a new project and copying your current sequence into it, then save it as a new project with a new name.

If that seems to work okay, then you can try to copy your essential clips and bins and other Browser items to rebuild the project file in a trim and fit form.

Have you saved it and closed the project? The size isn’t going to shrink until the undo cache has completely cleared.
