I use Soundtrack to import OMF’s and then export stems as aiff back to FCP.

if FCP had native OMF importing that would be a huge timesaver for some of us.

    No Doubt.

Yeah I was going toward the ST way or just consolidate from the one machine and bring it over.

I have always wondered if there was something outthere.

    thanks

Wow…my post came late. My internet here was wonky and I tried getting that posted for more than a few minutes.

Use Automatic Duck’s Import OMF plugin. I’ve used it for over 4 years importing both OMFs from Avid and from FCP projects. Works like a champ.

OMF from what? Avid? ProTools? Then you need Automatic Duck Pro Import:

Automatic Duck Import is part of a whole APP. Right. ie. not FREE .

Automatic Duck is great for sure. However I dont have it on these machines where I am currently cutting.

I am just going FCP to FCP. I will probably just consolidate that Specific SEQ and IMPORT in that onto the other machine.

What are you trying to do exactly? OMF from FCP to FCP? Since FCP cannot import OMFs, I’d recommend against this. But again, what exactly are you trying to do?

[jack Bibbo] “just get my splits out of one FCP machine and into another.”

The simply export a multi track aiff.
