  • FCP newbie Q: change bitrate to reduce export’s filesize?

Super simple question–I’m just getting familiar with the free trial of FCP after using Premiere Pro for years.
How can I change the export settings to change the final video’s file size? In Premiere, there’s a bitrate slider I can mess with to change the estimated output size. I need to export a 1-hour video as smaller than 5 GB for Vimeo. Even when I try to export the originally-1920 video as 720, the estimated file size is 6 GB.

You can import compressor settings to FCPX & then choose a preset from the share menu.
Alternatively, you can export your master file from FCPX to compressor & transcode from there.
