Does anybody know if it is possible to set Log and Transfer in Final Cut to import DVCPROHD P2 footage as say uncompressed or ProRes?

I’d like to do this on import and not need the Media mangler.

    Thanks for any help.

YOu can’t. That has to be done later with Compressor or the Media Manager.

But why? Those BOTH cause larger file sizes and won’t gain you any quality. If you want them to be ProRes or Uncompressed for Color Correction, just copy and paste the final clips into a timeline with the settins you want, then color correct and render. FCP will render them into those codecs.

I think that is what COLOR does…

I wish this was possible. It IS possible with the AVC-Intra codec, don’t see why it’s not with DVCPro HD.

Yes it is possible with Raylight/Mac and Quicktime Pro. You make the Raylight links and then export them from QTpro to whatever format you like.
