fcp locks up when i select color palette
fcp is locking up for some reason when i try to select a color for a matte or text. I have no idea what to do.

That’s ugly. I would do a clean reinstall of OS X if I were you.

i’m not too computer savy. will i lose all of my programs that way? not really sure how to do a clean install.

You won’t lose anything. Unless you click a button that asks if you want to do an “Erase and Install” instead. Don’t do that.
Apple.com has the instructions as does your Help menu.
Learning to do a clean reinstall is something all editors should be able to do.
You’ll need your install disks handy.

Thanks alot, but Ive somehow misplaced my disks. As soon as I get a hold of some i’ll do as you’ve instructed.
