    Hello all
Currently we have a system running Kona 2 and AJA IO on the G5. We are looking to expand our setup. One of the reuirements was that we need to be able to handle Sony HDCAM-SR, considering this is becoming popular as an alternative to 2K DI ( for cost reasons). Hence any advice on the set-up would be much appreciated, including anyone already using the Sony HDCAM-SR workflow with the Kona3 and MacPro machines.

    Many Thanks
    Bal

your Kona 2 does that now, even as 4:4:4 content from SRW. Even able to handle some 2K. Now that K3 can handle a full 2K workflow from DPX also but the storage requirements are enormous as that 4:4:4 content needs more than a single 2G fibre array to properly handle the data needed for that much data.

for the set up info- its an aja product –start with the 1080 23.98 DL (for dual link) setting.
make sure all of your SDI cables are exactly the same length.
forget about RT there is nothing in realtime at this level.
