    hi,
FCP is really slow with this footage that is from a PV-GS200 camera.
I am using the footage as .mp4 files.
Once it’s in the timeline FCP is really slow and it’s impossible to edit.
I’m new to FCP and my prof told me to change FCP to the camera’s settings.
pls confirm if that’s what i need to do and how.
    THANK YOU!

You are trying to edit h264 video files. H264 is NOT a editing codec.

For more info on how to convert those files and what to convert them to do a search on the cow. Questions like yours comes up all the time.

Seems that that camera shots MiniDV.
    Why the files are Mp4?
Mp4 is not supported on FC.
