FCP is renaming clips in timeline
I’ve been editing a concert using multi-clip in FCP and the strangest glitch is occuring. We used the program PluralEyes to sync the tracks and create the multiclip, and now we are editing the multiclip. After successfully making quite a few edits, FCP suddenly renames all the clips in the timeline for no apparent reason. It gives all of the clips the same name–naming them after one of the tracks. If we continue to make edits, it continues to change the clip names. The source files still keep the correct names; the renaming just shows up in the timeline. Somehow, the timeline still refers to the correct source file, even though the clip in the timeline now has a different name.
We have tried rebooting and trashing preferences, but this is still happening. We have now replicated this problem three times.
Have you ever heard of FCP/Pluraleyes renaming clips in the timeline? If so, do you have any idea why this might be occuring?
