FCP – Increasing duration of sequence
Fellow Final Cut Proers –
Firstly I will defend myself by saying I am in photography and have only just started fiddling around with FCP a few weeks ago.
I have made a short film to enter into a competition – with the specs of the comp being that the film has to be 7mins in length TOTAL.
After editing I am down to 7min45 – So close!!
So my “tech guru” at work tells me i can speed up the entire sequence using Apple J or Modify Speed to fit that 7.45 into 7min. I have used this function to speed up individual clips, so i thought “no problem”. But when i select all the clips Apple J no longer works…..
Novice problem i know, but my Tech Guru has gone on hol’s and can’t help me and I am desperate!! Please help. -

Create a new sequence.
Name it appropriately.
Double click it to open it in the time line.
Drag the sequence that has your edited movie into the time line.
This “nests” the original sequence.
Run the speed effect on the nest (Command – J)
