Regarding newsrooms using Final Cut in news production, I was curious if there were any more success stories like Poland’s TVN24? There was the ABC affiliate in Salt Lake, but I’ve not heard any stories recently. We are currently a DVCPRO 25 house and will probably go P2 soon. Some of our engineers expressed interest when I mentioned that FCP supports P2. Is anyone in the US doing this now? Perhaps some solutions will be shown at NAB??? Thanks for any insight.

I’ve heard that WXYZ in Detroit has a significant FCP setup, but no hard details. I’m extremely interested in any info on FCP newsrooms as well, expecially if the newsroom has an Avid Unity.

I tried visiting the site https://www.nelonen.fi/, but I’m unable to understand anything. 🙂

I’m thinking that I need to start a blog that can become sort of a clearing house of information on newsrooms using Final Cut.

Thank you for the information. I think I’ll make an attempt at bugging Apple on the subject.

    Scott,

Although we’re not in a newsroom environment, we do use FCP with X-SAN in a large, networked workflow. I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have. Contact me off list.
