  FCP HD 4.5 crashes after upgrade from FCP 4.1.1

  Hi,

  Will any kind soul pls enlighten me?

  I just upgraded to FCP HD 4.5. Quicktime is 6.5.2. I have also installed the (Prokit 3.0 for Panther). I’m capturing video from a DV deck via FIREWIRE.

  Everytime i double-click on the video clip in the browser that i just captured from the “Log & Capture” window, FCP 4.5 crashes.
  And the weird thing is that, afterwards when I re-open my project file. And try to access my video clips that I had problem earlier on, they play back normally.

  Before I upgraded to FCP HD 4.5, I don’t have this problem.

  I learned from somewhere that by turning Effects handling off for “DV PAL” under system setting while capturing, will help. And it did work, but after that i will need to go back to turn it on again. It’s quite troublesome. I’m hoping to hear some long term solution.
