FCP getting repetitively sluggish with Kona LHi

would you recommend to do this if my Macpro isn’t Nephalem Processor?? I am just having bad stuttering problems on the output screen and the Canvas every couple hours that leads to a crash. Even if I refresh by hitting AppleF12

16GB Ram

My Setup would be

1. Graphics Card
2. G tech 4-Port, PCIe x4 Raid COntroller
3. AJA Kona LHI
4. Empty

Have you tried the NDD driver? It completely solved my problem.

that sounds like a memory leak.

2 ideas

open it up and reset all the ram, pop it out pop it back in.

What else is running in the background? (don’t say nothing, there is always something running in the background- open activity monitor if your not sure)
What 3rd party plugins? any that have expired or are not licensed?
any Hacks or unauthorized / pirated stuff or “borrowed” serial numbers?

Since this happens over a given amount of time, it means that resource are being eaten up by something to the point it crashes the app. That can also be the sign of a failure of the serialization of some apps and or plugins.

AJA provides diagrams for non Nehalem computers on the AJA website. It’s different depending on the vintage of your MacPro.

thanks gary will try that Idea.. Meaning literally pop out ram and then pop back in??… As for all your questions. I will have to look at the activity monitor. No 3rd PArty PLugins. And all legit programs. thanks again for your help..

Jeremy dumb question…. I have looked at the Slot setups on the AJA website, but how do i tell if my macpro is a Nehalem Processor??? It was bought in October 09 and I have looked in all my preferences and About this mac to see if it says Nehalem and I can’t find it. thanks man
