FCP freezes capture on 5th minute
Hello,
Final Cut Pro freezes completely when I am capturing footage from tape and the timecode reaches the 5th minute. I even have to force quit FCP.
By searching the net I found out that the version 7.3 of quicktime (which I installed) has a serious bug that causes the FCP to freeze and abort capture. Many people seem to face this same problem..
I do not have a copy of Panther or Tiger and also cannot do the whole system re-installation right now.
Does anybody have found a better solution already to get this annoying problem solved???

Sounds to me like the scratch disk is formatted for a PC, and not Mac OS extended. Is it?

Are you running Final Cut Pro 4.5?
