  • FCP Effects – TV Noise or Film Noise

    Hi Everyone,

Here’s what I’m trying to accomplish. I’m trying to create a filter or effect (or find one) that looks similar to the TV noise you get when you aren’t getting good reception on an old cable TV. It’s for a promo video that I’m working on, and I’m trying to get the clip segments to come in and out, with the TV noise as a transition.

Can anyone tell me how to do this? I looked at some of the filters in FCP, and they didn’t quite accomplish what I wanted. Any help would be amazing!

This is a fun one that I’ve used:

    Hope that helps,

The digital heaven one is good, but you can also use Effects Tab > Video Generators > Render > Noise

I believe Nattress also has one.

FCP6 has Bad TV if you can wait a month!

Nope! Deadline is next week, Monday. And I don’t have the $$ to upgrade, or a decent compter to put it on. I’m operating off of a PowerBookG4 that I bought in early 2003.

Do you know what other effects are going to come standard on FCP 6? I’m curious which ones I should shell out for and which ones to wait for.

    Cheers.
