How come I am able to find job boards for graphic designers and all other creative disciplines, but for editors I haven’t been able to find any job boards or agencies.

I personally no of one I am with but haven’t gotten any bookings from yet. Where as I know web designers who are with as many as 10 different agencies.

    Where are the agencies?

I was once told you don’t find agents, agents find you.

I don’t agree. I see people seek out agents all the time and get them with work in their respective fields with portfolios inferior to mine.

What is the secret? How do I stay employed and avoid the soup kitchen?

My clients, whom I get thru word of mouth, come and go randomly regardless of performance and I’m always left waiting for the other shoe to drop.

There has to be a solution I’m not aware of.

    CreativeCow gods, speak to me.

If you find the answer will you share it with us.

I am either toooo busy, or standing at the Freeway ramp holding my sign “Will Video for food”

It is my cute little red skirt, combat boots and hairy legs, that does the trick…

As the Insurance agent we were interviewing commented when asked what was his secret to success…. “dial faster” I do not know a better solution..

The secret is NETWORK NETWORK NETWORK. Produce and direct as well. Do your own work on the side and check out soho editors. They havent officially hooked me up b/c I been busy but they have offered a few jobs. Good stuff
