FCP Deck Control Problem
Hi everyone!
I need some help troubleshooting the deck control through my setup. (FCP on Mac G5 with AJA Kona 3) Currently I am trying to log & capture video from a dvcam deck to FCP. I am connecting the Kona deck control and dvcam deck control through a switcher and have done this before with no problem. My problem is that when I go to Log & Capture I can’t control the deck through FCP! It says “No Communication” but when I switch to local instead of remote on the deck I can play it in FCP by controlling it straight on the deck (it still says “No Communication” below the viewer). I am not doing anything differently than before so I am completely stumped as to why this is happening! Can anybody think of a solution to this or something I may have possibly overlooked?

Have you tried troubleshooting by connecting the deck directly to the card? I may be your switcher failing? If not, at least you will have ruled that out as a problem.
