    Hi,
I would like to place a shape over my footage in fcp so you can se only the footage in form of the shape of the image? does this make sense? e.g i would like to draw a map in PS and place my footage UNDER this map in FCP so you can see the image only in a map shape?
    I hope i am making sense…
can someone kindly assist me? I have made an image in PS, now if i take it into FCP and place it on a layer above the footage will it be transparent?

    Thanks Frieha

You can also save your image as a png and the transparent areas will stay transparent when it is imported in FCP and put in a track above your footage.
