    Hey guys,

got a problem- recently purchased Mac tiger to install with my FCP studio 5 upgrade. First I installed tiger and noticed that my existing DVDSP 3 program wasn’t fully functional afterward. trashed preferences and all but no luck. Second, installed FCP studio 5 and am having the same problem with both FCP 5 and DVDSP 4. Both crashing. I’ve tried trashing preferences, no luck. I DID NOT do a fresh install (erase hard drive), just an upgrade over the old programs and OS. I am also currently downloading any apple software updates hoping this will help. But anybody got any ideas? Can’t have my system on downtime very long as I have clients calling. Thanks.

Unfortunately, Rick…the problems you are having are classic problems we see from not doing a clean install.

OSX and FCP are finicky about installs.

It should take you about 4 hours. If you start now, you’ll be more than ready for clients on Monday.

    Hey there,

thank you for the fast response. It looks like the software upgrade fixed the fcp crash. Now I just need to remedy dvdsp 4. If it come to a fresh install, so be it. Thanks again.
