FCP crashes on mounting and ejecting of volumes in Log & Transfer window
I am running FCP 6.0.3 on a 3.2 GHz Mac Pro Quad-Core with 8 GB of RAM. I’m attempting to capture media from archived P2 cards and firestores off 2 x 1 TB Glyph raid drives. I’ve been having pretty frequent though seemingly arbitrary crashes when I try to mount or eject volumes from the Log & Transfer window. Sometimes it will occur multiple times in a row requiring a string of FCP restarts. I also find that after I first start up the software mounting the first set of volumes can take an exceptionally long time. This doesn’t seem to be specific to any particular volumes. It seems like it will randomly happen and not happen with all the volumes.
I’ve tried deleting the Prefs, repairing the system disk with disk utility, nothing seems to work.
I am also having similarly random problems hearing audio in the Log & Transfer window, but that is a subject for a whole other thread (literally, I posted on that yesterday).
Seriously losing patience with P2,
Aynsley
