FCP crash when opening Boris RED
Since upgrading to FCP5 my Boris RED plugin has become unstable. The most common problem is FCP quitting when opening a title previously created in RED static. This happens about half the time. I have deleted and reinstalled RED and deleted it’s preferences. I have removed all bad fonts. The crashing does not happen with motion graphics created in the RED generator, using RED as a filter, or using RED as a stand-alone. The Boris Calligraphy plugin is stable but RED has a lot more features. has anyone else encountered ths?

Hey Chris. Try reinstalling FCP. That might hopefully clear up your problem.

This is a known bug in Red. We found it when creating a custom dual screen layout.
What layout are you using? Try using the 2 up or 4 up stock layouts that comes with FCP and see if you have the same problem. It’s when you change the layout that things get weird.Dajen Productions

Wow! You are absoulutely correct. This should have occured to me as my window layout kept reverting to a stock layout after crashes. I will but Boris to see if they will fix this soon. Thanks for the help!

Whoops- spoke too soon. After heavy use FCP is crashing when opening Boris RED titles even when using standard window layouts. If you have any more ideas I’d be happy to hear them.
