  • FCP clips randomly attaching to others on sequence and moving w/them.

I’m editing on FCP academic and recently some clips in my 90 min sequence are attaching themselves to others in random fashion, down the timeline. So when I go to shift part of the sequence in a chunk, it will pick up these clips, even though they’re not highlighted and move them too or tell me I’m going to shift things out of sequence. Sometimes if I move a section, it will erase the entire 2nd line of audio on the other half (unhighlighted) part of the sequence. I’m having to trick my sequence to move clips by inserting slugs and closing gaps!?! Ideas?

Also, if I highlight and alter one of these attached clips, it will alter its match as well…my sequence is so large and complicated that I can’t see where the attachment is.
