  • FCP changing audio duration automatically in PAL sequence!

I’ve got a PAL sequence that needs the final sound mix dropped in. However, when I try to lay it down, I get the green bar on the audio track and the incorrect duration! I suspect FCP is trying to be “helpful” by adjusting the playback rate automatically, but this is plain wrong. And there’s no setting or anything I can find to prevent it from doing this. The sample rate is, of course, the same for PAL / NTSC at 48 kHz. There are no filters or anything applied to the track.

Any ideas how I can stop this from happening? I seem to recall a long time ago someone posted something about changing the “Easy Setup” setting to PAL, restarting FCP and trying it again. I tried that, but FCP still takes the liberty of adjusting the duration of the audio track.
