    Hello,

Having recently turned from PC and Vegas Pro to an IMac I7 and FCP I’m experiencing the usual teething problems with set up / settings etc that I’m hoping someone can help with.

Firstly, I had a problem connecting my Sony Z5e via the Firewire port on my Mac, FCP wasn’t seeing the camera. I managed, after some online hunting to connect the camera to FCP so Log and Capture would work but the quality of the footage I’ve captured is very grainy, even though it was filmed in 1080i HDV.

As such, I assume my capture settings are wrong – I have them at DV Pal 48khz Anamorphic but have also tried Pro Res 422 but both give me grainy footage.

Is there something I’m missing or does anyone know of the optimum capture / system settings when taking HDV footage direct from the camera?

Many thanks in advance for any assistance,

    Matt
